REBUKE

On 1 Timothy 5
As I have shared in past entries, I have had past issues with rebuking people I truly care about. My rebuking was never done out of harm, but it was extremely harmful. It was because I was truly excited about what God had been doing in my life, but came across proud, ignorant and selfish. When I read verses one and two, I realized that I rebuked older women- including my own mother, and I spoke down to younger women- definitely not as if they were sisters. I am glad that I am aware of my sinful nature, and I am glad to be reminded in this passage how to build up the family of Christ.
