STUDY
- Who will judge the living and the dead?
- What does Paul say about the person with "itching ears"?
- What is the advice given to Timothy in verse 5?
- What does Paul say will be awarded to Him on the Day of Jesus' return? Why will he receive this?
APPLICATION
- Read again verse 7. Will you be able to say with Paul, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith"?
- Read verse 10 again. What does it mean to be in love with the present world? In what ways do you need to 'fall out of love' with the present world to protect your relationship with Jesus?
PRUNING ME
What a statement Paul makes- "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". Will I be able to say the same at the end of my life? We can't win a fight unless we train and are in good physical condition. We can't finish a race without practicing and train our bodies in cardio to make it the distance the race requires of us. We can't keep faith unless we are trained in godliness, practice what the Bible teaches, let our "Coach" help us to be in good spiritual condition to make it the distance and face the challenges that we will face. Be trained. Practice what you learn. Let the Holy Spirit guide you and keep you.
