STUDY

• What was the prayer of Paul for the Colossians in verses 9-12?

• Who is the image of God? 

• By whom was the earth created (verse 16)?

• What is Jesus the head of?

• What have we been because of Jesus' death?

• What is Paul's goal in proclaiming Christ, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom?

APPLICATION

• Write out a prayer to God, using  verses 9-14 as your reference.  Change the wording of the text so that it is personalized- replacing words like "you" to "I".

• Paraphrase verses 15-17.  What do you receive from these verses?

• What does it mean to be above reproach?  Make this your prayer.  

PRUNING ME

    How am I to be filled with knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding?  By seeking Jesus!  We can't gain this knowledge and understanding without pursuing Him.  The Holy Spirit, who dwells in us, gives us understanding and wisdom. How amazing is that?  Through Him the Word of God becomes alive and more understandable.  Through Him we are teachable and can receive His wisdom.  Through him we gain His strength and are able to endure.  "All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."  Amen.
