STUDY

  • What do we have through Jesus according to verse 7?

  • What is made known to us through Jesus?

  • What is God's ultimate plan for the fullness of time? What does this mean?

  • What does it mean to "obtain an inheritance", mentioned in verse 11? Who receives this inheritance?

  • What are we sealed with when we accept and believe in Jesus?

  • Starting in verse 17, what does Paul pray that the Ephesians receive and for what reason?

  • Read verse 19 again.  What else did the "immeasurable greatness of his power" that is used toward us, in us and through us also do?

  • To whom did God give all authority?

APPLICATION

  • Jesus LAVISHES His grace upon us- grab hold of it and accept it joyfully!

  • How confident are you in the security of your salvation?

  • When you read through verses 16-23, how do you feel about the text?  Isn't it crazy to read how powerful God is? He is the same God that loves us and takes care of us!  Romans 8:31~ What shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

PRUNING ME

I just loved some of the words in this chapter.  One being, lavished.  And, of course I loved the context too!  Jesus lavished  His grace upon us.  I'm glad He doesn't sprinkle His grace on us, but overwhelms us with it!  I need more than a sprinkle!   I also love the words, sealed and guarantee in verses 13 & 14.  When I received Christ as my Savior, I was sealed the Holy Spirit that was promised to me in John 16 by Jesus. And the Holy Spirit is my guarantee that I have inherited eternal life after this temporary earthly life!  Although I already know Jesus as my personal Savior, I still yearn for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God mentioned in verse 17.  I want my heart to understand Him better and I want to grasp His immeasurable greatness of power that is available to me through Jesus.  This is so magnificent to me. The same power that raised Jesus from the DEAD, is the same power at work in me and through me.  Don't you think that more miraculous and divine things would happen more often if we just tapped into that power through faith??  I also loved verses 19-23 that declared how mighty and powerful is He who we worship!

VERSE TO MEMORIZE

Verse 7

  • In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.

Because of Jesus and His grace, we have been saved from death and He has forgiven us all of our sins- past, present and future!
