STUDY
- What does Paul say about someone who aspires to be an elder?
- Why do you think are requirements for a man to be an elder?
- Why should we follow these requirements when adminstering elders or deacons?
- Why do you think women are not "qualified" to be elders or deacons?
APPLICATION
- Why should we all aspire to have the attributes of an elder or deacon?
- Which qualities do you lack that can be given to God for change?
PRUNING ME
Although some may have a problem with women not being "qualified" to be elders or deacons in a church- I do not. I think God has some obvious, and some not-so-obvious reasons why He does things He does, or sets up guidelines the way He does. I do believe they are ALL for our good. I am not someone who changes Scripture to make it applicable to my life, but rather I change my life to make it applicable to Scripture. Even some of the things we don't understand, we must obey, just because the Bible says so. I am okay with living my life that way- are you?
- Leanne
PASSAGE TO THINK ABOUT
